How to conquer your worries and let your kindness shine.

Hi,

Do you do that too? Tonight my partner came home from work late. Again.

Sometimes it’s just a 30 minutes delay that can have the power to torture. As the sun is setting and he rides his bike...; Has his boss called him in for a late meeting? Or is there another reason? My mind can ramble on forever searching for worst case scenarios and trying to stay real.

Add to this picture dinner preparations and kids that need a bit more attention – disaster seems just around the corner.

Today was very different though. I felt calm and peaceful while helping my kids through their evening routine. You see, today [I practiced gratitude].

Instead of worrying I decided to focus on the many times he is on time –so much so that I take this for granted. I decided to feel thankful for his hard work that lets us live well.

There is always, always something to be thankful for.

What is that for you?

A home that protects from the elements? Running water, even warm? Plenty of nourishing food? People that love you? …

Recently my second daughter celebrated another birthday. Do you remember the birth of your kids? The first time you held them – and now they turn 3 or 5 or 10?

In the midst of everyday life; of cleaning pots and scrubbing floors; of trying to get out of the door on time in the morning and falling into bed exhaustedly at night; we can easily start to take things for granted – even life.
