Do not drive impaired; someone did and these three died.
On October 6, 2007; I lost 3 kids to an impaired driver. My son, 21, his wife, 19 (they were married 3.5 months) and a young man I loved as a son. They were on their way to the movies when they were hit head on by an impaired driver. My kids were killed instantly. The impaired driver was also killed; but her passenger was ejected. For a long time I blamed God and I hated everyone.
To make a long story short; it took me 4 years to finally stop blaming God. I almost took my life and lost my marriage. But God had other plans. My wife and I started a non profit called AVID-Advocates for Victims of Impaired Driving. We have two online support groups; one for those who have lost love ones due to an impaired driver and one for those who have been injured and survived a crash caused by an impaired driver. I swore to my son as I put the first dirt on his casket; that I would be his voice and the voice of every victim/survivor that is affected by an impaired driver in some way.
If you are or know a father or some affected by an impaired driver you may email me at firstname.lastname@example.org God bless.
